Parking and Directions

The Heights Theatre is located at 3951 Central Ave NE, Columbia Heights, MN 55421 on the corner of Central Ave near 40th Avenue, at Gould Avenue NE. Outside free parking is adjacent south of the theatre and north of the theater on the DQ side. DO NOT PARK IN THE CHURCH PARKING LOT BEHIND THE THEATER, YOU WILL BE TOWED!

By Car

Directions from Uptown, Downtown or South Minneapolis:

The Heights Theatre is 12 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. Take the Third Avenue Bridge, which becomes Central Avenue and go north past 38th Avenue NE. The Heights is on the right just over the hill.

Directions from Downtown St. Paul:

Take Highway 280 North to 35W. From 35W, take the County Road D exit. County Road D turns into 37th Avenue NE. Continue to Central Avenue. Turn right on Central Avenue to 39th Av NE. The theatre will be on the right just over the hill.

Northern Suburbs west of 35W:

From 694, take the Central Ave/Hwy 65 South exit. Go south on Central Ave to 40th Ave NE, and look for the Dairy Queen on the left. The Heights Theatre is next door.

Directions from Western Suburbs:

Take 100 North to 694 East to the Central Avenue South/Hiway 65 Exit. Go south to 40th Street, to the Dairy Queen and Heights Theatre on the left. Turn left at the DQ for the free adjacent parking lot.

Roseville and all Suburbs East of 35W and North of 694:

From Southbound 35W, take the County Road D exit. County Road D turns into 37th Avenue NE. Continue to Central Avenue. Turn right on Central Avenue to 39th Av NE. The theatre will be on the right just over the hill.

By Bus

It's easy get to the Heights with Metro Transit. From Downtown Minneapolis take either the #10 or the #11 lines. They'll drop you off at the Columbia Heights Transit Center, just one block north of the theatre!

By Bike

Traveling by bicycle? The Heights shares a secure bike rack with the Dairy Queen next door.

Accessibility

The Heights Theater is fully accessible. We also offer hearing assist and closed captioning devices, just ask for them at the concession stand if you need them. Depending on the format of the film provided by the distributor or the age of the film, closed captioning may not be available on all films.

Concessions

The Heights serves freshly popped Pop Weaver popcorn and unlike many theaters we offer REAL butter. As far as drinks go, we have a full line of Pepsi fountain drinks, Aquafina bottled water, and even Starbucks mocha and coffee frappuccinos. Our candy selection includes such things as Twizzlers, DOTS, Junior Mints, Kit Kat Bars, Milk Duds, and plenty of others. Additionally we offer 100% vegan cookies from the Alternative Baking Company.

Heights Theater Dairy Queen

In addition to our concession items, The Heights owns the Dairy Queen next door to the theater and in the, spring, summer, and fall all Theater patrons can purchase items at the DQ and bring them into the theater! The DQ has a full treat line as well as Orange Julius premium fruit smoothies, Hot dogs, BBQ and Grilled chicken sandwiches.

Be sure to bring your Heights Theater ticket stub to the DQ and get 50 cents off any treat or food item.
