"Beware of what you wish for - you may be so unfortunate as to get it." - Artie Shaw. This critically acclaimed documentary - newly restored - tells the story of Artie Shaw, legendary jazz clarinetist, with interviews of the 75-year-old about his life. Born in 1910 in New York City, Shaw leaves home to tour as a musician at the age of 16 and slowly rises to national prominence, becoming as famous for his eight marriages as for his musical skill, which earns him comparisons to Benny Goodman. Shaw discusses his musical and cinematic career, his retirement in 1954 and his many interests, from writing to fishing.
