THE ITALIAN JOB

1969

Director: PETER COLLINSON

MICHAEL CAINE, NOEL COWARD

ALL SEATS $12.00

Charlie Croaker's planning a massive heist with his best pal, Roger. But when Roger leaves prison, he's murdered by the mob. When his widow urges Charlie to continue the robbery, he agrees, in the hopes of a big payday and some revenge. Charlie assembles a crack team of specialists, some of whom are a bit bonkers, and the result was a sharp and yet hilarious thriller that won over British audiences. "You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!" became one of Caine's signature lines, oft repeated at pubs and mimicked by comedians for years, and THE ITALIAN JOB has since become a bona fide classic.
