Eve (Colbert) is a showgirl who lost all her money in Monte Carlo. She's fresh off the boat in Paris, it's raining, and so she finagles a free taxi ride from driver Tibor Czerny (Don Ameche) to find work as a singer. When that fails, he tells her to crash at his apartment, and though there's a fire burning between them, she vanishes - landing in the lap of jealous husband George Flammarion (John Barrymore), who wants to use her to seduce his wife's boyfriend? What?!? This sexy comedy has about a thousand moving parts and an equal number of laughs, and is an underseen screwball classic.
