When Calvero (Chaplin), a drunken clown who has seen better days, saves Terry (Claire Bloom), from suicide, he not only helps get her back on her feet and back to ballet, but begins to revitalize his own career. Limelight saw the one and only pairing of Chaplin and Keaton, and is a melancholy--and hilarious--masterpiece, arguably Chaplin's last great film.
