This epic spoof of "Star Trek" works wonders not just from its affectionate send up of television cliches, but from its stellar cast that included Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, and Alan Rickman, but also future stars in Sam Rockwell and Rainn Wilson (let's not forget Enrico Colantoni's amazing turn as Mathesar, leader of the Thermians).
