SUPER RARE SILENT VERSION!
Born and raised in Minneapolis until he was in his teens, Lew Ayres became a musician and his dashing good looks brought him Hollywood's attention. But his work in All Quiet on the Western Front not only secured his place in cinema's firmament, it also changed him as a person: this anti-war tale of doomed soldiers in World War I so affected Ayres that he became a conscientious objector to the Second World War, and nearly ended his career. Ayres is riveting as the young soldier.
Although there is a sound version of All Quiet on the Western Front, many believe this silent version is more affecting, and has left audiences spellbound. Don't miss this super rare 35mm screening presented with the original music and sound effects score!
