Alex (Malcolm McDowell) is a disaffected young man in dystopian London. With his Droogs, a stylish gang of white-clad hooligans, he terrorizes people with a bit of the "ultraviolence." One night he goes too far, killing a woman, betrayed by his Droogies, convicted and sent to prison. There, Alex is plunged into an experimental rehabilitation program, and dumped back into the "real" world. Kubrick's disturbing masterpiece was perhaps his most controversial film ever, and has since become a classic.
